Daily Activities

Our daily activities include:

  • Circle time (songs, books, felt stories, magnet stories, games)

  • Free play

  • Art and science (based on the child’s interest)

  • Snack/lunch time (peanut & nut free)

  • Outside play

  • Quiet time (stories and nap-time).

Activities are happily adjusted to meet the specific needs of your child.

Drop-off and Pick-up Policy

Parents are required to sign their child in and out every day upon drop-off and pick-up. This includes parents recording the time of drop-off/pick-up and their signature. It is the parent's responsibility to ensure their child is welcomed by staff prior to leaving.

We ask that children arrive at the daycare by 10:00 am to ensure the security of the children and to ensure no child misses any part of our activities.

For full details, please check our Drop-off and Pick-up policy here.

Drop-in Policy

We accept drop-ins at Little Step Edu-Care Daycare. You may arrange set days you require a drop-in with the staff or contact us as soon as you know you require care.

Please note: Drop-in care is not guaranteed and is based on ratios and licensed space availability. Please contact us before dropping in unannounced.

A drop-in fee of $50 must be paid on the day of drop in.

Screen Time Policy

At little Steps, we do not rely on electronics to fill space in our daily schedules. There are no tablets, mobile devices, or TVs in the daycare. We always aim to build our curriculum and daily routines that promote physical activity, as well as cognitive and social development.

Rain or shine, 11 am to 12 pm is our everyday outdoor time. This time is designed for gross motor activities with age appropriate toys and sensory activities such as: bike riding, climbing, sliding, sand and water activities.

Immunization Policy

Immunizations are one of the most effective ways of preventing the spread of communicable diseases. We strongly recommend that all children’s immunizations be up to date prior to entry into the program, and that the immunizations are kept up to date thereafter. The record of immunizations is recorded on the registration form upon entry into the program. Please update our files after each subsequent immunization.

We suggest that parents should schedule their child’s immunization on days that kids are off for a period of 1 to 2 days from daycare.
